About Jeffrey Michael Walcott Photography

I am a freelance portrait and feature photographer based in New York City.  In every project I undertake, I strive to capture candid moments that express the personality of the subject.  I caught the photo "bug" at the age of 13 while traveling down the Coastal Highway in California.  My parents had a Nikon N2000 and I was captivated by the camera's ability to capture my surroundings in the way that I saw them.  I began attending every school sporting event I could to photograph and saved all my money in the hopes of purchasing a professional level camera.  By the age of 16 I was equipped with a Nikon N90s and a portfolio of images that got me in the door at the area newspaper.

I've been working for over 12 years now and have shot assignments in many areas of the country, including Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine and New York.  I'm blessed with an insatiable curiosity to get to know people and share their stories through my lens.
